Chinese Dumplings - Gyoza Recipe

This recipe is part of a Chinese three-course dinner, for a special and different night!

We love to go out to dinner, but we love more to try to recreate the dishes we try when we go out! So this time we had an entire Chinese Dinner, from Appetizer to Desser! And we love so much to cook with different ingredients than the Portuguese ones, we think gastronomy is one of the best ways to travel, through flavors! 😍😍😍

Appetizer - Chinese Dumplings - Gyoza

Main Dish - Chinese Almond Chicken with Yangzhou Fried Rice

Dessert - Chinese Mango Pudim

Ingredients - Dough:

 400g Wheat Flour (2.5 Cups)
 1g Salt (¼ tsp)
 250mL Water (1 Cup)

Recipe - Dough:

1. In a glass bowl add flour, salt and start adding water slowly.

2. With your hands, start kneading the dough until it gets a soft texture.

3. Let it rest for 1 hour in a warm place covered with a kitchen cloth.

4. After 1 hour, make a few strips of dough and cut them into small pieces to start stretching with a rolling pin, into small circles.

Ingredients - Filling:

 500g Minced Beef
 40g Coriander
 1 tbsp Soy Sauce (15mL)
¼ Cup Vegetable Oil (60mL)
¼ tsp Black Pepper (1g)
¼ tsp 5 Spice Powder (1g)
 ½ tsp Salt (4g)
 1 tsp Sesame Oil

Recipe - Filling:

1. In a glass bowl add beef, chopped coriander, soy sauce, black pepper, 5 spice powder, salt, and sesame oil. Mix them all very well.

2. In a pan put the vegetable oil and when it starts almost boiling add it to the glass bowl with the prepared beef and stir to fry the filling.

3. Filling ready, the next step is to make the dumplings and cook them!

Ingredients:

 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil to fry (15mL)
¼ Cup Warm Water to boil (60mL)

Recipe:

1. With a slice of dough put a tablespoon of the filling and start closing it with your fingers, if the dough is to dry you can add some water in the tip of your fingers.

2. In a frying pan put vegetable oil and place the dumplings to fry the bottom for about 1-2min and then add the warm water and cover the pan for about 5-6min.

3. You are ready to enjoy this delicacy! But don't forget to dip them in soy sauce!
